Latest Build Version:	2.0.0.9
Date: 09/28/2002

System Requirements:
--------------------
Microsoft Windows (tm) 9x, NT, 2000 or XP.
MFC42.DLL or later (Microsoft Foundation Classes)
WinSock 2.0 or later (Microsoft Windows Sockets)

Installation:
-------------

If you already have a previous version of SNMPLog running, terminate it either by right clicking on the SNMPLog icon in the Windows System Status Tray and selecting "Exit" from the menu or by clicking the "Exit" button on the SNMPLog window.

Releases of SNMPLog prior to version 2.0 required that you manually add or remove the program and help files from your start menu and program folder.

Run setup to install SNMPLog Version 2.0

You can re-install SNMPLog at any time by running setup.

SNMPLog can be un-installed by clicking on the "SNMPLog Uninstall" icon in the start menu folder or by choosing "Add/Remove Programs" from the Windows control panel and selecting "SNMPLog Version 2.0"

The un-install program will remove all of the program files, help files, readme files, etc., from the installation folders. It will also remove all program groups and/or items that were created during setup.

Un-install will NOT remove the SNMPLog folder if it contains a log file directory. So un-install preserves any existing log files. If you wish to delete the log files, you must do so manually.

You can determine the build level of your version of SNMPlog by selecting properties on the SNMPLog.exe file in Windows(tm) Explorer or by choosing the "About..." option from the SNMPLog menu.

Enhancements in Version 2.0:
----------------------------

Build:	2.0.0.9

Set focus to the message list area by default at startup time.

Added an "autoflush" startup option (/f) to automatically flush the message buffers to the disk files when each message is received instead of only when a message buffer fills (default).

Updated Help file.

Included Marc D. Reibstein's SNMPLA log analyzer utility program for use with SNMPLog log files.

See the "SNMPLA Readme.txt" file for details.

Build: 2.0.0.8

Update Notification Icon Message (Systray) to reflect current status when focus is set using the keyboard for Windows XP. This is primarily for Windows XP enhanced accessability support.

------------------------

Build: 2.0.0.1 - 2.0.0.4

Widened the display window to accomodate longer SNMP Trap messages generated by firmware revision 1.37 without truncation.

Installation and un-installation is now provided with InstallShield.

Provided a setup option in InstallShield to automatically place SNMPLog into the Windows Startup folder.

Future Releases:
----------------
At the rate Linksys has been producing firmware upgrades (This is good, they are staying on top of popular technology and supporting their products), I'm sure there will be!

A couple of things planned are HTML help files so that the hyperlinks inside the help actually work and there is more formatting control.

Another thing is some kind of alerting system to alert you when traffic either inbound or outbound is targeting suspicious ports and/or IP's.

I also have a UNIX version available that interfaces with syslogd, uses logrotate, optionally runs as a daemon and has an X Windows interface.
